it's not a surprise anymore that Japan is way ahead when it comes to technology, and i'm sure the rest will just follow.
i am very pleased with Mouse Computer's Netbook with DVD, know as LB-F1500W. It has the following specifications:
1.6GHz Atom processor,
160GB hard disk, 1GB RAM,
10.2-inch (1,024×600) display,
and Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition OS.
You can buy the LB-F1500W for 64,800 yen or around $730. well, although the price is quite steep for a netbook, think of it this way, at least you no longer need to lug around an external dvd drive which is also an additional bulk in your bag. but for sure the weight of this netbook will be heavier than without optic drives.
I think netbooks are oftentimes, complimentary to other PC desktops or laptops but with the economy nowadays, i wouldn't be surprised if people use the netbooks as their ONLY or MAIN laptops and thus having this DVD option would be a convenience.
I just hope that other netbook brands would follow suit. I wouldn't buy a netbook just yet, i'd wait till the rest of the computer companies show us what they've got up their sleeves. So what do you think about this netbook?
