this is one iPhone application you shouldn't miss. complete with lyrics, and cheesy background pictures. It's been reported that people at the park were grabbing their iPhones in a hearfelt song. check it out!
Currently, takashi murakami hossted an exhibiton at the guggenheim museum in bilbao, and here are the latest videos from murakami. uhm, do you speak japanese or spanish? if not...enjoy the pictures, as i am doing so now.
seriously, only in japan. are japanese people running out of people that they constantly have to make robots in place of them. Well, saya who's been tested as a receptionist is now being tested to be a teacher.
seriously? would you lay the foundations of your success and mere existence on the hands of a robot?
here's some of the things that she can do:
could converse would people
give the appropriate or should i say (scripted reactions)
is multi-lingual
so what else could go wrong?
let's say it's very well-informed and that it could memorize a thousand pages in one go. but does it have the proper skill to be a teacher. they say not all smart people could teach, but not all those who teach are smart. there are just some people who are far more blessed with having the passion to share their knowledge and reaching out to their students. to some this may be effective but to some this may be a hindrance. as sometimes, it is not just knowledge that we are seeking to impart on our students. we want the to be independent, smart and resourceful as well.
my two-cents worth on this. make the robot clean your house. don't let it meddle with your brains.
note, pls don't try doing this at the airports or something or else you would be detained or worse spend a few days in jail. but it's funny how the japanese reacted to invisibly being shot.
if ever you have a dog, you know how hard it is to take their pictures right? either they're too busy chewing on something, or they're simply camera shy. this app is pretty cool huh check the video out.
it offers several dog barks that could catch your dogs attention. well, actually my problem is keeping my dog's attention. lol. but nevertheless i like this app a lot.
Yup you heard it right, youtube will soon be available right on your television screen.
One could access it only thru PS3 or Wii game console. according to a blog post by youtube, the new interface was designed to provide a dynamic lean-back, 10 feet television viewing experience...with enlarged text and simplified navigation that makes watching YouTube on your TV as easy and intuitive as possible.
I think it's just a cool idea, i mean, watching from the computer is not the same say as from seeing it from the flat screen. but then i hope they could also provide your own channels on that thing, so one may access their latest subscriptions on the big screen as well.
I wonder if they could also provide time-scheduled downloads like maybe for missed shows or something. Yeah, i've always wanted that. That'll be really cool.
So who's your ideal woman? Someone to whom you can share conversations with, and reacts as well, someone to clean your flat all day and yet never complains, someone who remembers your favorite drink? Someone to read the newspaper to your beloved grandma?
Well, look no further as here comes Aiko, which means beloved one in Japanese. She's the first Canadian Android that could speak both in English and Japanese. She's created to be in her twenties with nice figure and face if i may say so. She does the usual stuff that other robots do but this one has feelings. As shown in the video, where she says when she's hurt already? That's pretty cool huh, but also a little bit scary.
Ok i think this is a cool invention but i think feelings is not something you could toy around with. Let's say, children pinch her cheeks, just because they think she's cute or something, is she programmed to have the patience for that? Can she really tell right from wrong? I mean we have human judgements that are hard to explain into a system. I don't know i'm no scientist but i just think that it's dangerous when robots start acting like humans.
The creator, Le Trung, says aiko doesn't complain at all. Well, if she learns more, i wouldn't be surprised if she tells him to give her a salary. Or better yet, to set her free. Well, I might instead, spend less time with a robot and find myself a wife for real.
here's the latest video from Japan's youtube darling: Magibon
Never heard of Magibon? She's a 22 year old girl from Pennsylvannia who rocketed to stardom,in youtube Japan at least, through her innocent videos, where she just smiles and nods infront of the camera. Being a fan of Japanese music and pop-culture, thus her name came from Morning Musume's band member Aibon.
After some videos, she started speaking in Japanese which she was quoted to explain that she was merely practicing her Nihonggo. Her cute charm and innocence won her more than a thousand subscribers and has even won her as one of youtube's most subscribed channel of all time in 2008.
