Happy 100th birthday, and with that you get a smaller cup!

Happy 100th bday, oops i hope you don't mind a smaller cup?

yeah that's right, normally japanese who rich 100 yrs old receives a silver cup from the Prime Minister of japan for their longevity on their birthday. This cup costs around 7,000 to 8,000 yen.

However, it was recently reported that they have reduced the diameter of the said cup from 10.5cm to 9cm. 19,769 japanese people became centarians last year and the number is increasing as well, and with the ongoing economic problems, they are trying to reducing costs in every way possible.

But don't fret, i'm sure the centenarians don't mind:

1. Their eyesight is so bad, they wouldn't notice this change anyway.

2. They would probably even forget that it's their birthday.

3. They're probably too passed out already to even care for a cup.

Oh well, happy 100th birthday anyway!!!

Harajuku Rock and Roll Museum closed

It's just so sad, that the rock and roll museum at harajuku would close after 16 years. It closed last January 18, 2009. It was so sad having to see a statue of elvis being covered.

The said museum, comprised of Get Back Beatles Store, Love Me Tender Store, and Gimme Shelter Rolling Stones store. This is owned by Japan Allround Music Inc, which began selling Beatles goods way back in 1982. They did however say that they'd continue to sell stuff over the internet.

But i think that's just as personal as buying on ebay don't you think. It is pretty sad and maybe the fans could do someway to raise funds to show their support or something.
