What to Eat in Kyoto

i just discovered this amazing site, http://kyotofoodie.com, which gives a daily digest of the coolest restaurants in Kyoto, Japan. They feature the food, the restaurant's interiors, the surroundings and the map going to the place as well.

aside from that, it provides some insightful history of the restaurant and some story behind their famous menu.

this site got me hungry. it's always helpful to view websites like this before going to japan, especially if you can't speak japanese, or could make out what the menu is saying.

Cute Bentos

I just stumbled upon this cute blog entirely about bentos. Bentos is japanese version of quick packed lunch. The site is called adventures in Bentomaking. Aside from the cute pictures of the bentos, the blog also describes in detail how they came up with the whole meal. pretty cool huh. i guess that'll give you a quick reference if you suddenly need to cook up a meal.
